Join Aurora Explorers Marv Heston and Ken Sklute as we return to the beautiful country of Iceland in order to photograph the dancing lights of the Aurora Borealis and the unique beauty of this Nordic island nation for 11 days! The natural phenomenon of the Northern Lights provides astrophotographers and stargazers alike with opportunities to see and photograph the night sky with colorful displays of green, pink and violet. Ken and Marv will take you out each evening for an adventure chasing the Aurora and provide on-location instruction on how to capture this celestial wonder creatively. Of course we are at the mercy of the weather and the cloud cover.

September is a wonderful time to visit Iceland as have planned many beautiful locations in both the super photogenic areas of the south shore and then working our way around to the north to capture the many waterfalls and coastal beauty to round out the best of Iceland!. This is the time to be comfortable outside at night and use the reflections of the many lakes, rivers and streams for spectacular compositions! Staying at the finest Inns around the country provides us time to rest as we enjoy all that this area has for us to explore.

After we conclude our fun on the south shore we will head to the northern parts to visit and photograph the geothermal areas.

Marv and Ken make every effort to find open skies in order to provide you the ability to capture magnificent imagery.

Where We’re Going:

Our workshop will begin in the Capital city of Reykjavik. We will then head east to capture some waterfalls and fantastic beaches before reaching “The Crown Jewel of Iceland,” the ice lagoon of Jökulsárlón and the adjoining Diamond Beach, where the recently calved icebergs are polished by the Atlantic ocean and turned into ice gems! After dinner, when clear skies allow, we will be out in search of the Aurora!

After many more stops on the south shore, we will head for the north of Iceland, known for the must-see attractions that include active and dormant volcanoes, secluded fjords, thundering waterfalls, rustic fishing villages and bubbling hot springs.

Following a full circumnavigation of this splendid island, we will return to Reykjavik to bring our tour/adventure/experience to a close before flying home.

We are only accepting 6 attendees for this once in a lifetime adventure, so make a reservation with us for this special trip.

What is included:

Local transportation from the city of Reykjavik, double occupancy lodging, photographic instruction and guidance are a big part of joining us on this adventure.
