I got to spend one of the last days of the 2015 Arizona Monsoon chasing storms on the west side of Phoenix. This was a rare thing for me as I tend to explore the open areas of southeast Az.
I was able to visit some nice areas and enjoy a stormy afternoon when most people are enjoying an end of summer cookout.
These images were captured on the new Canon EOS 5DS R, the EOS 1DX and an infrared converted EOS 5D Mark II body. My lenses of choice for todays chase was the EF 70-200mm 2.8 L IS Mark II and the EF 24-105mm f/4 L IS lens.
The sunset was remarkable as the rich warm tones infiltrated the cool, evening blues of the storm. sadly all of the lightning took a break to watch the gorgeous end of the day but they resumed lighting up the sky not too long afterwards!
